Miranda Lambert Shares Ella Langley’s “Test” During ‘Dandelion’ Production

Miranda Lambert and Ella Langley recently collaborated on Langley’s upcoming album, “Dandelion.” Their working relationship blossomed after Langley persistently sought Lambert’s involvement. Their first major meeting occurred on March 17 at Nashville’s BMI offices, where they celebrated Langley’s two chart-topping hits, “Choosin’ Texas” and “Weren’t for the Wind.” Lambert co-wrote the latter.

Developing a Creative Partnership

During a press event, Lambert reflected on how Langley’s determination impressed her. “If you know Ella at all, when she puts her mind to something, it’s happening,” Lambert noted. Under the endorsement of co-writer Luke Dick, Lambert agreed to collaborate, feeling that “the stars kind of aligned.”

The “Test” of Connection

While working on “Dandelion,” Lambert was struck by Langley’s clear vision for her artistry. Langley presented her inspirations and goals during their first writing session, prompting Lambert to appreciate her confidence and ambition. “It was so inspiring,” Lambert shared.

During a break, the artists ventured out together, where Langley subjected Lambert to a musical quiz. Lambert found herself singing along to Langley’s inspiration playlist. “I think that was a test that I passed, hopefully,” she exclaimed. Langley confirmed the playful theory, highlighting their shared musical roots as a bonding factor in their relationship.

Support System in Country Music

Langley credited her rapid ascent in the music industry to the guidance of Lambert and other prominent female artists. “Having Miranda there and Lainey Wilson, and others like Gretchen Wilson and Jo Dee Messina has been crucial,” Langley stated. She emphasized the importance of shared experiences in navigating the challenges of their careers.

Lambert acknowledged the reciprocal nature of their relationship, stating that she learns from the younger musicians as well. “I learn a lot from the girls that are just working their ass off,” Lambert mentioned. Their dynamic showcases the mutual respect and inspiration that flows between generations of female country artists.

Upcoming Album Release

Fans can look forward to the release of “Dandelion” on April 10. The album promises to embody the creativity and vision that both Lambert and Langley have cultivated together.
