A prominent mosque in Birmingham, Green Lane Masjid and Community Centre (GLMCC), has announced plans for the Eid ul Fitr celebrations in 2026. The mosque organizes extensive outdoor festivities for this significant occasion in the Islamic calendar.
2026 Eid ul Fitr Celebrations Details
The GLMCC will hold Eid ul Fitr prayers either on Thursday, March 19, or Friday, March 20, 2026. This decision hinges on confirmed moon sighting reports from Saudi Arabia. The mosque encourages worshippers to arrive early, as prayers will begin promptly at 9 AM.

The prayers will take place at Small Heath Park, which will also host the Robert Wilkinson Funfair from 10 AM to 9 PM, offering a range of rides for families.
Attendance Guidelines
GLMCC has provided several guidelines for attendees:
- Arrive early to ensure participation in the 9 AM prayer.
- Bring personal prayer mats and plastic sheets for comfort.
- Utilize sustainable transportation methods, such as walking or carpooling.
- Free parking is available at Morrisons, Small Heath. Avoid parking on double yellow lines or blocking driveways.
- Supervise children closely and encourage their participation in prayers.
- Dispose of litter responsibly using designated bins.
In case of inclement weather, indoor prayers will occur at GLMCC at staggered times, starting from 7 AM to 11 AM.
