Comcast’s Sky Gives UK Subscribers Free Ad-Supported Disney+ Access
Comcast’s Sky has launched a significant update for its UK satellite TV customers. They will now receive free access to the ad-supported version of Disney+, valued at approximately £5.40 ($6.90) monthly. This initiative follows February’s announcement where Sky combined Disney+, HBO Max, Hayu, and Netflix into one subscription package alongside Sky TV.
Disney+ Access Through Sky for UK Subscribers
Sky subscribers who already have Disney+ can transfer their plans. This move can save them over £70 annually while retaining their profiles and watch history. There is also an option to upgrade to the ad-free version of Disney+ by paying the difference.
Sky’s Subscriber Base
As of early 2026, Sky boasts around 23 million customers across Europe. This includes:
- 12.7 million in the United Kingdom and Ireland
- 5 million in Italy
- 5 million in Germany and Austria
New Disney+ Cinema Channel
Sky Cinema subscribers will have access to a new Disney+ Cinema channel. This channel will feature a curated selection of films from various studios, including Disney, Pixar, Marvel, and Star Wars. At launch, the channel will offer around 50 titles, with new releases added weekly. Upcoming films include:
- Iron Man (Marvel Studios)
- Deadpool (Marvel Studios)
- Wolverine (Marvel Studios)
- Death on the Nile (20th Century Studios)
- Alien: Romulus (20th Century Studios)
- Finding Nemo (Disney and Pixar)
- Up (Disney and Pixar)
Content on Linear Channels
Sky’s portfolio will also feature a selection of Disney+ titles on their linear channels. This includes popular series such as:
- “Andor” (Star Wars)
- “The Bear” (FX)
- “Coleen Rooney: The Real Wagatha Story” (Original Series)
Eligible Sky and NOW Entertainment customers can watch these titles on Sky Atlantic, Sky One, and Sky Witness.
This partnership enhances Sky’s content offerings, making it an attractive option for viewers in the UK.
