In a landmark auction, a guitar once owned by Pink Floyd’s David Gilmour sold for a staggering $14.6 million. This sale set a new record for the highest price ever paid for a guitar. The auction took place at Christie’s and showcased items from the estate of billionaire Jim Irsay, who passed away in 2025.

Record-Breaking Auction Highlights

Initially, the guitar was estimated to sell for between $2 million and $4 million. However, the ultimate price exceeded all expectations, highlighting the item’s cultural significance.
