The Toronto St. Patrick’s Day Parade is set for this Sunday, and attendees should be aware of significant road closures. Here are essential details regarding road disruptions and transit updates for the weekend.
Road Closures for St. Patrick’s Day Events
Two main events will lead to road closures:
St. Patrick’s Day Race
- Bayview Avenue: Closed from Pottery Road to River Street, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
- Rosedale Valley Road: Closed from Bayview Avenue to Park Road during the same hours.
St. Patrick’s Day Parade
Road closures for the parade will occur in two phases:
- First Phase (9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.):
- St. George Street: Bloor Street West to College Street
- Devonshire Place: Bloor Street West to Hoskin Avenue
- Sussex Avenue: Huron Street to St. George Street
- Harbord Street: Huron Street to St. George Street
- Hoskin Avenue: St. George Street to Queens Park Crescent West
- Ursula Franklin Street: Huron Street to St. George Street
- Second Phase (12 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.):
- Bloor Street West: St. George Street to Yonge Street
- Yonge Street: Bloor Street to Richmond Street
TTC Service Updates
The Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) has also announced service changes:
- Line 2: No subway service between St. George and Broadview stations on Saturday due to signal work.
- Shuttle buses will operate between stops during this time, with Bay and Sherbourne stations closed.
- Regular subway service resumes at 8 a.m. on Sunday.
- Extra TTC service will run on Lines 1 and 2 for both the race and parade.
Cherry Street Closure
In addition, due to tower crane construction, Cherry Street will be closed between Eastern Avenue and Front Street from 7 p.m. on March 13 to 11:59 p.m. on March 15.
