Warmer Weather Shatters Temperature Records in Nova Scotia

Recent warm weather has led to record-breaking temperatures in Nova Scotia. On Tuesday, significant milestones in daily temperatures were achieved across the province.
Daily Temperature Records Broken Across Nova Scotia
According to Environment Canada, the temperature at Halifax Stanfield International Airport reached 17.3°C. This figure surpassed a record that had stood since 1977.
Regional Highlights
Several areas across Nova Scotia experienced unusually high temperatures. Notable records included:
- Greenwood: High of 19.8°C, surpassing the previous record of 15.5°C set 32 years ago.
- Kejimkujik National Park: Recorded a high of 19.9°C, breaking its 1998 record of 14°C.
- Temperatures were also notably high in Sydney and Kentville.
Forecast for the Week
CityNews Halifax meteorologist Allistar Aalders described the upcoming weather as a “roller-coaster.” A cool front will begin on Wednesday, followed by showers or drizzle expected on Thursday.
As a result, temperatures are expected to dip into the double digits. On Friday, clouds will dominate, with a 60 percent chance of rain or flurries. The Halifax area is forecasted to experience temperatures around 1°C, leading into a weekend where single-digit temperatures will prevail.
