The 2026 CrossFit Open’s second workout, sponsored by Air National Guard, introduced a challenging mix of movements. This workout featured alternating dumbbell snatches, dumbbell overhead walking lunges, pull-ups, chest-to-bar pull-ups, and muscle-ups on rings.
Key Highlights of CrossFit Open Workout 26.2
This particular workout had a strict 15-minute time cap. Athletes who couldn’t complete the workout had to submit their scores based on the number of repetitions achieved, along with their tiebreak times.
Comparison with Previous Workouts
Workout 26.2 bore striking similarities to Workout 25.2, notable for its pulling movements and escalating difficulty levels. However, the workout design incorporated a different set of complementary movements. Notably, the muscle-ups posed significant challenges.
- 9,918 women and 41,773 men successfully completed at least one ring muscle-up.
- Over 58,000 women and 100,000 men managed to perform at least one chest-to-bar pull-up.

Participation rates varied significantly by country. The leading nations in Rx’d participation were:
- South Korea: 88%
- Australia: 84%
- United States: 78%
Finishing the Rx’d version of Workout 26.2 presented difficulties. The top countries for completion were:
- Spain: 10.1%
- Australia: 8.4%
- Italy: 8.4%
Muscle-ups were a significant obstacle, with the percentage of athletes achieving at least one muscle-up listed as follows:
- Australia: 29.5%
- Spain: 28.8%
- France: 28.2%
Division-Specific Analysis
The advanced pulling movements led to a decline in Rx’d participation compared to Workout 26.1. In the 18-34 age group:
- Women: 70% completed 26.2 as Rx’d (down from 78% in 26.1).
- Men: 88% completed 26.2 as Rx’d (down from 92% in 26.1).
An overwhelming majority of athletes encountered difficulties at the 112th rep, leading to a time cap during the initial muscle-ups. Overall, only 4% of women and 13% of men finished all reps within the time limit.
Community Cup & Classification
The Community Cup represents the next phase after the Open. Competitors’ tiers in the Community Cup depend on their performance across all three workouts in the Open.
For instance, women aged 55 and older needed at least 117 reps to qualify for the Advanced tier in Workout 26.2.
