The contract includes $13 million allocated for the 2026 season. This deal comes after Hargrave was released by the Minnesota Vikings on the same day. He had signed a two-year contract with the Vikings a year prior, following his recovery from a torn right triceps injury that derailed his 2024 season with the San Francisco 49ers.

At the age of 33, Hargrave started 15 games for the Vikings but recorded only 3.5 sacks. He was originally set to earn $15 million next season, with a cap hit of $21.7 million for 2026.
