FEQ Presale Sees Decreased Festival-Goer Rush This Year

The presale for the FEQ (Festival d’été de Québec) has shown a notable decline in urgency among festival-goers this year. The initial batch of 20,000 passes, exclusive to Desjardins members, sold out in 50 minutes on Tuesday, a significant increase in time compared to previous years.

FEQ Presale Analysis

In 2024, the same number of passes sold out in just five minutes, while in 2025, it took half an hour. This year’s trend indicates that even though all passes are still being purchased, festival enthusiasts are taking longer to secure their tickets.

Historical Sale Times

The sale patterns over the past years are as follows:

  • 2023: 115 minutes
  • 2024: 65 minutes
  • 2025: 30 minutes
  • 2026: 50 minutes

Despite the slower pace, the festival management expressed satisfaction with the results of the presale. Bleufeu, representatives of the FEQ, commented that the response from the audience demonstrates a strong enthusiasm for the upcoming 58th edition and reflects the public’s trust in the festival.

Public Reactions

However, there were complaints on social media from some individuals disappointed by their inability to obtain a 2026 pass. Some festival-goers reported waiting in line two hours before the sale started at noon, despite the organization indicating that early arrival would not impact order in a digital queue.

So far, one of the artists announced for this year’s festival is Pierre Lapointe, who will perform alongside the Orchestre symphonique de Québec on July 19 at the Plains of Abraham. The complete lineup will be revealed on Wednesday.
