Park Jin-young Leaves JYP Board to Pursue Creative Ventures

Park Jin-young, the founder of JYP Entertainment, has announced his departure from the company’s board. The 51-year-old chief creative officer (CCO), widely recognized by his stage name J.Y. Park, will not pursue reappointment during the shareholder meeting scheduled for March 26, 2026.

In his recent statement, JYP Entertainment revealed that Park intends to concentrate on his creative work as an artist. He aims to mentor emerging talent and engage in new external roles within the K-pop industry. This shift comes after his appointment as cochair of the Lee Jae Myung administration’s pop culture exchange committee in October 2025. The committee’s mission is to promote Korean cultural content globally, with a particular emphasis on K-pop.
