Injury Updates and Status Reports
Senators’ defenseman Jake Sanderson is listed as week-to-week due to an upper body injury sustained during a 7-4 victory against the Seattle Kraken. Coach Travis Green has noted that Thomas Chabot will step into Sanderson’s position on the top defensive pairing. Nikolas Matinpalo will also make his first appearance in 12 games.
Goalie James Reimer is set to start for the first time in six games. For the Canucks, forward Evander Kane was absent from the morning skate, while Brock Boeser left early. Coach Adam Foote stated they are addressing some minor issues but expects both players will be fine for tonight’s game.
Additionally, forward Curtis Douglas, who was claimed off waivers from the Tampa Bay Lightning, participated in the morning skate. He may debut for Vancouver if either Kane or Boeser cannot play. The Canucks will also miss P.O. Joseph, Filip Chytil, Thatcher Demko, and Derek Forbort due to injuries.
