Ex-Lincoln City Striker Joins Arsenal for Training Sessions

Tyreece John-Jules, the former striker from Lincoln City, is currently training with Arsenal’s U21s as he seeks to revitalize his career. The 24-year-old, who is a free agent, recently departed Crawley Town and has rejoined his childhood club to work on his fitness.
John-Jules’ Background
John-Jules began his football journey at Arsenal’s Hale End academy. He signed scholarship terms in 2017 and turned professional the following year. Known for his scoring ability, he impressed at both the U18 and U21 levels. He even joined the first team on a pre-season tour under manager Unai Emery, though he did not make a competitive appearance.
Loan Spells and Challenges
His professional career involved multiple loan spells to gain experience. In January 2020, he joined Lincoln City to fill the gap left by Tyler Walker. John-Jules made an immediate impact by scoring on his debut against Blackpool. His potential attracted praise from manager Michael Appleton, who believed he had the skill to break into Arsenal’s first team.
- Debuted for Lincoln City against Blackpool.
- Injuries hampered his opportunities, limiting him to just seven appearances at Lincoln.
After returning to Arsenal, John-Jules went on to loan spells at Doncaster Rovers, Blackpool, Sheffield Wednesday, Ipswich Town, and Derby County. Unfortunately, persistent injuries hindered his progress, including a significant hamstring injury at Derby that required surgery in early 2024.
Recent Developments
During his time at Derby County, he played in 12 league matches and scored once, contributing to the team’s promotion to the Championship. Released by Arsenal in 2024, he signed with Crawley Town in October of the same year. He participated in the League One season but left upon contract expiration in June 2025 without marking any goals in 27 appearances.
A New Chapter at Arsenal
Now training with Arsenal’s U21s, John-Jules aims to demonstrate his fitness and skills to potential clubs. After spending the summer training with the PFA squad, he hopes that an EFL club in need of fresh talent may consider him. Despite his recent scoring difficulties, a stint in the National League could provide a valuable opportunity for his career resurgence.
