Report: Former Jaguars RB Etienne Jr. Signs with Saints

Former Jacksonville Jaguars running back Travis Etienne Jr. is set to join the New Orleans Saints. The Louisiana native has signed a four-year contract worth $52 million. This decision places him closer to home and is expected to benefit both Etienne and the Saints.

The 27-year-old running back has had an impressive career. In the previous season, he rushed for 1,107 yards, marking his third season with over 1,000 rushing yards. This achievement elevated him to third place on the Jaguars’ all-time rushing list with a total of 3,798 yards.
Touchdowns and Performance Statistics
Etienne set a personal best last season by scoring 13 touchdowns, six of which were receiving touchdowns. Notably, in his first four seasons, he had managed only one receiving touchdown.

Opening Game Performance
In the season opener on September 7, Etienne demonstrated his skills effectively. He carried the ball 16 times for 143 yards, which included an impressive 71-yard run. He also caught three passes for 13 yards, contributing to the Jaguars’ 26-10 victory over the Carolina Panthers.
Following this game, Bigsby was traded to the Philadelphia Eagles for two draft picks in the 2026 NFL Draft, indicating Etienne’s cemented role with the Saints as they look to bolster their running game.
During his four seasons with the Jaguars, Etienne accumulated a total of 5,136 yards from scrimmage and scored 32 touchdowns. His move to the Saints is anticipated to be a pivotal moment in his career.
