Super Bowl MVP Kenneth Walker Signs with the Kansas City Chiefs

Super Bowl MVP Kenneth Walker has officially signed with the Kansas City Chiefs, according to sources reported by ESPN. This move follows an impressive season where Walker shone as a key player for the Seattle Seahawks.
Kenneth Walker’s Journey to the Chiefs
Drafted in the second round, No. 41 overall, from Michigan State in 2022, Walker quickly established himself as a vital asset. He accumulated over 1,100 scrimmage yards and scored nine touchdowns in each of his first two seasons. However, injuries limited his performance at times, causing him to miss games due to oblique, calf, and ankle issues.
A Breakthrough Season
Walker entered the 2025 season with renewed vigor after adapting his eating and sleeping habits. He remained injury-free and shared the field with Zach Charbonnet. This collaboration proved fruitful, resulting in career highs of 1,309 scrimmage yards and an average of 4.6 yards per carry.
- Yards Per Carry:
- First 15 weeks: 4.4
- Last 3 weeks: 5.9
- Playoff Performance:
- Total Scrimmage Yards: 417 in three games
- Touchdowns: 4 in the playoffs
His performance peaked during the playoffs after Charbonnet’s injury in the divisional round. Walker scored four touchdowns, showcasing his talent when it mattered most.
Historic Super Bowl Victory
In a historic moment, Walker became the first running back since Terrell Davis to win the Super Bowl MVP, achieving this feat with 161 scrimmage yards in the championship game against the New England Patriots. He played all 20 games during the season and was a full practice participant in almost all sessions once the season commenced.
His remarkable ability to break away resulted in 34 carries of 20-plus yards, placing him fourth among running backs since 2022. This includes an impressive 55-yard touchdown in a victory over the Los Angeles Rams in Week 16.
As he transitions to the Kansas City Chiefs, Walker aims to leverage his experience and skills, hoping for a successful new chapter in his career.
