Global Brands Compete in Sky Sports F1 Promotion

Global radio stations Heart, Capital, and Radio X have united for a unique Formula 1-themed promotion at Silverstone. This collaboration marks the first time these brands have competed together in a head-to-head challenge.
F1 Challenge at Silverstone
The teams participated in a go-kart race designed around the iconic Silverstone circuit. Notable presenters included Mark Wright and Pandora Christie from Heart, Siân Welby and Kem Cetinay from Capital, and Chris Moyles and Polly James from Radio X. Each team raced to complete laps in hopes of achieving the fastest time.
Presentation and Coverage
Sky Sports F1 pundit Martin Brundle provided commentary for the challenge, supported by David Croft. The week-long series broadcasted on Global Player before also appearing on the stations’ TikTok and Instagram accounts. Highlights from the race, including interviews, were shared across these platforms.
Listener Engagement and Prizes
Listeners engaged with the campaign through various on-air mentions and promotions directing them to watch the episodes on Global Player. A competition allowed listeners the chance to win a viewing bundle that included a television, a sound system, and a twelve-month membership to NOW Sports.
Future Collaborations
Mike Gordon, Global’s Chief Commercial Officer, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration. He noted, “This shared campaign of this scale is very special and marks the start of a brilliant partnership.” Furthermore, this initiative signifies the beginning of broader collaborations with Sky Sports surrounding major Formula 1 races in the upcoming season.
