Season 2 of ‘A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms’ Welcomes New Cast Members

Season two of ‘A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms’ is set to add three new faces to its cast. HBO’s acclaimed Game of Thrones prequel will feature Lucy Boynton, Babou Ceesay, and Peter Mullan in significant roles.
New Cast Members Join the Series
Lucy Boynton, known for her role in *Bohemian Rhapsody*, will portray Lady Rohanne of Coldmoat, dubbed the Red Widow. Babou Ceesay, who appeared in *Alien: Earth*, takes on the character of Ser Bennis of the Brown Shield. Lastly, Peter Mullan, recognized from *Westworld*, will play Ser Eustace Osgrey of Standfast in the Reach.
Returning Stars
The new cast members will join returning actors Peter Claffey as Ser Duncan “Dunk” the Tall and Dexter Sol Ansell as Egg. The storyline draws inspiration from George R.R. Martin’s novella, *The Sworn Sword*, which follows Dunk and Egg as they navigate a regional conflict amid a drought in Westeros.
Filming Locations and Schedule
Season two is expected to be filmed in Spain, a location previously utilized for numerous *Game of Thrones* episodes. Unlike past uses mainly for Dorne or Essos scenes, this season’s setting aligns with the narrative’s focus on drought conditions.
Showrunner Ira Parker commented on the season, stating, “It’ll still be six episodes. I think the scope will be the same, maybe even smaller.” He added that while the budget remains consistent, the current inflation has increased costs, especially given the need for a sunny filming location.
Season Two Anticipation
Fans are eagerly awaiting the series’ return in 2027. The first season of ‘A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms’ achieved series-high ratings and is averaging 14 million viewers in the U.S. and 26 million globally.
What’s Next for the Franchise
In addition to this season’s exciting developments, there is more news from the larger *Game of Thrones* universe. Warner Bros. is reportedly working on a movie about King Aegon I Targaryen’s conquest of Westeros. Additionally, the upcoming action-packed third season of *House of the Dragon* will premiere this summer, alongside the anticipated stage adaptation, *Game of Thrones: The Mad King*, coming to the Royal Shakespeare Theatre.
