Brighton & Hove’s community radio station, 1BTN, is gearing up for its much-anticipated International Women’s Day Takeover. This year’s event will feature an impressive 50-hour broadcast, highlighting female, trans, and non-binary talent from the local music scene.

Running from Friday, March 6, at 10 PM until Sunday, March 8, at midnight, this eighth edition will consist of a mix of studio sessions, beachfront broadcasts, and a vinyl-only takeover. Activities will take place at The Fortune of War and OnAir, one of Brighton’s newest listening bars.
Fundraising for a Cause
The event serves as both a celebration and a statement on equality, with funds raised directed equally towards 1BTN and RISE, a local charity assisting victims of domestic abuse. This reflects the theme of this year’s International Women’s Day, #GiveToGain, which encourages organizations to amplify marginalized voices.
