الأرصاد تحذر: طقس حار نهارًا ومعتدل ليلًا يسبب نزلات البرد
Dr. Manar Ghanem, a member of the media center at the Meteorological Authority, provided insights on the current weather conditions. This period is marked by stable autumnal weather, with temperatures slightly above average. This increase is attributed to a high-pressure system affecting most regions of the country, resulting in mostly sunny days.
Expected Temperatures
During a phone interview on the show “Good Morning Egypt,” Dr. Ghanem forecasted that the daytime maximum temperatures in Greater Cairo will reach between 32°C and 33°C. Coastal areas will experience relatively lower temperatures.
Cold Symptoms Forecasted
As the sun sets and night falls, a significant drop in temperatures is anticipated. During late-night and early morning hours, the weather will be notably mild. This fluctuation is typical in autumn, with warmer daytime temperatures and cooler evenings.
Dr. Ghanem cautioned that the transitional period between summer and winter often leads to an increase in cold symptoms. The combination of warm days and chilly nights can contribute to the spread of colds and related illnesses.
Transition to Autumn
Dr. Ghanem emphasized that autumn officially begins with a gradual reduction in temperature and humidity levels compared to summer. However, the first half of the season may still see occasional warm days before moving towards winter characteristics in the latter half.
Risk of Floods
Autumn in Egypt is also noteworthy for potential flooding. Dr. Ghanem noted that heavy rain events are common in October and November. These floods primarily affect several governorates, particularly in northern and southern Upper Egypt, the Red Sea region, and parts of Sinai. This is largely due to the geographic features that influence seasonal weather patterns.
- Current Temperatures: 32°C – 33°C in Greater Cairo.
- Forecast for Nighttime: Significant drop in temperatures, leading to cold symptoms.
- Flood Risks: Peaks in October and November.
