Claude Dubois successfully underwent a vocal cord cancer operation on February 27, according to a statement released by his manager, Nathalie Charest. This marks the third surgical intervention on his vocal cords since 2022.
Claude Dubois: Battling Cancer and Rescheduling Concerts
At 78 years old, Dubois has been living with a diagnosis of bone marrow cancer for a decade. To ensure a proper recovery, he has postponed two upcoming performances originally scheduled for April 25 and 26 in Brossard. These shows are now rescheduled for September 20 and October 7, respectively.
Nathalie Charest expressed that while Claude is disappointed about changing the concert dates, his health is the priority. She assured that the public would understand the need for these adjustments.
Upcoming Performances
Despite the surgery, Dubois will maintain his other scheduled performances. Concerts in Gatineau on May 1 and Saint-Hyacinthe on June 27 will continue as planned. He is expected to resume his tour with a performance in Saint-Jérôme in mid-August.
Biographie Symphonique Concert
The concert titled “Biographie symphonique,” a strictly musical homage to Dubois’s work, will still take place as scheduled by the Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal on April 7, 8, and 9. Claude Dubois is not expected to perform at this event.
