Jadon Sancho Open to Summer Transfer from Aston Villa to Preferred Club

Jadon Sancho, currently on loan at Aston Villa, is reportedly open to a possible summer transfer back to Borussia Dortmund. The 23-year-old winger, who was signed by Manchester United for £73 million, will become a free agent at the end of the season.

Sancho’s Current Situation

Sancho is attempting to revive his career at Aston Villa under manager Unai Emery. Although he struggled initially, he has made 13 starts and appeared in 13 matches off the bench across all competitions. However, reports suggest that Villa is not his preferred option for a long-term move.

Interest from Borussia Dortmund

The England international, who has previously played for Dortmund, would consider returning if the club expresses interest in him. During his two previous spells at the Westfalenstadion, Sancho recorded impressive statistics, including:

  • 53 goals
  • 67 assists
  • 158 appearances

In his most recent loan stint, Sancho started seven times as Dortmund advanced to the Champions League final, but his performance did not match his earlier success.

Potential for a Transfer

Dortmund has previously sold Sancho for over £70 million and may see a reunion as a valuable investment. Sancho is reportedly waiting to see if Dortmund will pursue him actively.

Aston Villa’s Position

Despite not being Sancho’s first choice, Aston Villa remains hopeful of securing his services. Champions League qualification may entice him to stay. Emery has shown interest in keeping Sancho, and the club’s management is open to signing a talented England international on a free transfer.

However, Sancho desires consistent playing time, having only started six Premier League matches this season. His future will depend on both his form and the interest from Dortmund as the summer transfer window approaches.
