BMW Transforms Marketing Conference into a Showcase for New iX3

The SHIFT 2026 conference in Hungary served as a platform for the unveiling of the second-generation BMW iX3. This significant event highlighted BMW’s commitment to innovation in the automotive sector, with the iX3 being the first model from the new Neues Klasse lineup manufactured locally at the Debrecen plant.
Showcasing the BMW iX3 at SHIFT 2026
As the official mobility partner for SHIFT 2026, BMW Hungary prominently featured the iX3 at the Eiffel Workshop in Budapest. The showcased model, the iX3 50 xDrive, is currently the only variant available for consumers.
Production and Popularity
The production of the iX3 takes place at BMW’s Debrecen plant in Hungary, a site that is already experiencing such high demand that a second shift is set to commence sooner than initially anticipated. This shows the substantial consumer interest in the electric crossover.
Features and Specifications
- Speaker System: The showcasing of the iX3 included a remarkable setup featuring 55 speakers.
- Exterior: The vehicle was presented with the optional M Sport Package and an illuminated kidney grille.
- Wheels: Although they appear as standard 20-inch wheels, they are, in fact, the optional aerodynamic 1047 M set.
- Color Options: The showcased model was painted in Ocean Wave Blue, with eight additional colors available, including the bold Eucalyptus Green and Fire Red.
- Interior Design: The interior featured a striking Digital White theme, with options for a white steering wheel even on base models.
Future Developments
Looking ahead, BMW plans to diversify the iX3 lineup later this year. The 50 xDrive model will be positioned as a mid-range option, fitting above the standard 40 models but below the high-performance M60 and the M variant, which is not expected to hit production until late 2027.
In addition to expanding the iX3 offerings, BMW is also finalizing the design for the forthcoming iX4. Initial spy photos have circulated, suggesting a reveal later in the year. Furthermore, the long-wheelbase version of the iX3 is set for debut in China, followed by launches in Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, and India.
With these developments, BMW is firmly establishing itself in the electric vehicle market while continuing to innovate through models like the iX3, which was successfully launched at the SHIFT 2026 conference.
