Grève du 2 octobre : Prévisions de trafic RATP, SNCF et aérien dévoilées

The upcoming strike on October 2nd has prompted new traffic forecasts for public transport across Paris and the greater region. The inter-union alliance is mobilizing once again, following the previous demonstration on September 18th. Aiming to sustain pressure on Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu, this call to strike is expected to have a varying impact across different modes of transport.

Traffic Predictions for October 2nd Strike

The situation is markedly different across the various transport networks. Here’s a breakdown of what to expect on October 2nd.

SNCF Rail Services

  • TGV and Intercity Services: The SNCF expects minimal disruption, with TGV services running normally.
  • TER Services: Some minor disruptions are anticipated on local TER and Intercités routes.
  • Union Involvement: Major unions, including CGT-Cheminots and SUD-Rail, have urged staff to actively participate in the strike.

Transport in Île-de-France

  • Metro Services: RATP has reported no notable impact on the Paris metro network, stressing that operations will be nearly normal across all lines.
  • RER Services: The RER B will experience slight disturbances, while RER A is expected to function normally. However, variations may occur on RER C and other Transilien lines.
  • Bus Services: Specific bus routes, especially those in Argenteuil, will face disruptions.

Aviation Sector

  • Overall Flight Schedule: According to the Ministry of Transport, only minor delays are minor expected despite over 75 reported strike participants.
  • Paris Airports: There will be no significant disruptions anticipated at Paris airports, although some delays may occur across French airports.
  • Flight Reductions: The DGAC has recommended a 30% reduction in flight schedules at Paris Beauvais Airport for the day.

Despite the unions’ strong call for mobilization, the overall transport forecast appears manageable. With the expectation for normal operations across major routes, both commuters and travelers are advised to stay informed about any changes to their travel plans as the strike approaches.
