This morning, a frontal system moved swiftly through the area, enhancing the northeast winds. The areas north of Taoyuan and the eastern half of Taiwan are experiencing increased cloud coverage.
Rainfall and Temperature
- Keelung’s north coast and the east also received light rain.
- Scattered showers occurred in northern mountainous regions and the Greater Taipei area.
- Rainfall was minimal, but it’s advised to carry umbrellas when venturing outside.
Temperatures early in the morning were notably cool, influenced by radiation cooling effects. The northern and Yilan regions recorded lows of 13 to 15 degrees Celsius, while southern areas and Hualien-Taitung remained warmer at 16 to 18 degrees.
Daytime Conditions
Throughout the day, maximum temperatures will range from 19 to 22 degrees in northern and Hualien areas. In central and southern Taiwan, highs may reach 24 to 27 degrees, offering a comparatively warmer feel.
Travel Warnings
Before Friday, nighttime temperatures in high-altitude areas will remain low. Drivers and hikers should exercise caution due to potential icy conditions and slippery roads. Additionally, farmers in high-altitude regions are advised to protect crops from frost damage.
Wind and Coastal Activities
As the northeast winds continue to strengthen, areas from Taoyuan to Tainan, including Taitung (with Orchid Island and Green Island) and the Hengchun Peninsula, will see wind speeds exceeding level six and gusts over level eight. Safety precautions are urged for coastal activities.

- Penghu: Mostly sunny to partly cloudy, temperatures from 17 to 20 degrees.
- Kinmen: Mostly sunny to partly cloudy, temperatures from 13 to 19 degrees.
- Matsu: Mostly cloudy with brief rain, temperatures from 11 to 14 degrees.
