Espanola, Massey, Sudbury Districts Cancel School Buses Today

The Sudbury Student Services Consortium has announced significant changes to school transportation in response to adverse weather conditions. Today, February 10, school-related bus services are cancelled across multiple districts, including Espanola, Massey, and Sudbury.
Cancelled Transportation for Student Safety
Due to poor road conditions, all school buses in the affected areas will not operate. This decision prioritizes the safety of students and staff. Although schools remain open, transportation services will be unavailable.
Affected Areas
Cancelled transportation includes all regions within the following districts:
- Espanola
- Massey
- Sudbury Districts
Additional communities impacted are:
- St-Charles
- Noëlville
- Monetville
- Markstay
- Hagar
- Warren
- Wahnapitae
- Coniston
- Killarney
- Whitefish
- Whitefish River First Nations
- Onaping
- Chelmsford
- Capreol
- Valley East
- Garson
- Azilda
Instructions for Parents
Parents in the Espanola, Massey, and Sudbury Districts should prepare to transport their children to school without relying on bus services. Moreover, they need to arrange pick-up in the afternoon.
On Manitoulin Island, transportation services are also cancelled this morning but will resume later in the afternoon. Parents choosing to bring their children to school on the island will not need to arrange for after-school pick-up.
Staff Expectations
Despite the cancellation of transportation, all school staff members are expected to report to work. The community’s cooperation and understanding during this time are appreciated.
