Weather Challenges and Conditions

The deteriorating weather conditions led to significant delays, with two hours spent waiting due to fog before the decision was made to cancel the event. Regardless, the training experience will not adversely affect the Sunday downhill race, as at least one training run is required for the competition.

Vonn’s time of 1:38.28 placed her third overall, while Johnson emerged as the fastest American skier. Despite some wobbliness during her run, Vonn displayed strength, shaving off two seconds from her previous time.

Future Events and Schedule

The next significant event for Vonn will be the Olympic downhill competition at the Milano Cortina Olympics. Coincidentally, a previously scheduled downhill race in Crans-Montana, Switzerland, has been postponed to March 6 due to crashes. This race is now slated to occur at Val di Fassa, Italy.

The final training session on February 7 is set to begin at 5:30 a.m. ET in Cortina d’Ampezzo, as Vonn and her fellow competitors aim to fine-tune their performance ahead of the medal event.
