The Atlanta Falcons acknowledged the incident, stating, “We are aware of an incident involving James Pearce Jr., in Miami. We are in the process of gathering more information and will not have any further comment on an open legal matter at this time.”

Pearce’s Performance in the NFL

James Pearce, 22, had an impressive rookie season. He was third in the AP NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year voting and recorded 10.5 sacks. This remarkable feat is notable as it was the most for a rookie since Micah Parsons achieved a similar record in 2024.

The Falcons selected Pearce with the 26th pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, and he quickly made a name for himself on the field. His recent legal troubles, however, now overshadow his promising career.
