Cold Wave Persists Tomorrow: Heavy Snow to Hit Honam and Jeju

A severe cold wave will intensify over the next day, impacting much of South Korea. A cold wave warning has been expanded nationwide. Frigid winds will lower the perceived temperatures to as low as minus 19 degrees Celsius in Seoul and minus 17 degrees Celsius in Daegu.
Expected Heavy Snow in Honam and Jeju
Snowfall is likely to increase overnight, particularly in the Honam region and Jeju Island. Predictions indicate that areas in western Honam could receive over 10 cm of snow by tomorrow morning.
Jeju Island is expected to experience heavy snowfall, with totals possibly exceeding 30 cm by tonight.
Regional Temperatures
- Seoul: Expected high of minus 2 degrees Celsius
- Daegu: Morning temperature around minus 10 degrees Celsius
- Busan: Similar lows around minus 10 degrees Celsius
In contrast, some regions, particularly in the eastern part of the country, will remain under dry weather warnings due to lack of snow clouds.
Sea Conditions
The sea is predicted to be very rough, with wave heights reaching between 4 to 5 meters in most coastal areas.
Weather Outlook
This cold spell is expected to ease by Monday afternoon. Following the cold wave, rain or snow may occur across the country between Tuesday and Wednesday morning.
Stay warm and stay alert as winter weather continues to challenge those in affected areas.
