Miranda Kerr Reveals Key to Harmonious Co-Parenting with Ex Orlando Bloom

Miranda Kerr, a former Victoria’s Secret model, has shared insights into her successful co-parenting relationship with ex-husband Orlando Bloom. In a recent episode of the podcast “We Need To Talk,” she emphasized the importance of forgiveness in their dynamic.
Forgiveness as a Foundation for Co-Parenting
Kerr, 42, discussed how spiritual work has shaped their relationship since their marriage from 2010 to 2013. She believes that forgiving each other has created a more peaceful environment for their son, Flynn. “From day one, we recognized our relationship was not bringing out the best in each other,” Kerr stated.
After their separation, Kerr and Bloom made a commitment to prioritize their son’s well-being. “Let’s make it about what’s in the best interest for Flynn,” she said. By focusing on forgiveness, they avoid the emotional burden associated with animosity.
Creating a Harmonious Environment
Kerr noted that having negative feelings towards an ex-partner can be exhausting, especially when they remain in your life as parents to a shared child. She stated, “When you have a child with someone else, they will always be a part of your life. Why not make it harmonious?”
Support from a New Partner
In addition to co-parenting with Bloom, Kerr discussed her current marriage to Evan Spiegel, co-founder of Snapchat. Married since 2017, Spiegel also has a background as a child of divorce. He actively encourages Kerr to set boundaries with Bloom, helping her navigate their co-parenting arrangement more effectively.
Kerr recalled, “In the beginning, I was overly accommodating to Orlando’s needs.” She mentioned Spiegel’s advice: “You don’t have to accommodate every change.” This perspective has enabled her to find clarity while maintaining kindness.
Insights from Other Celebrities
Kerr is not alone in her approach to co-parenting. Other celebrities have also shared their experiences. Kristin Cavallari, during her split from Jay Cutler, stated her focus was solely on her children. “They’re the only things I care about right now,” she emphasized.
Kim Kardashian, in talks about her co-parenting challenges with Ye (formerly known as Kanye West), mentioned the importance of protecting her children’s relationship with their father. “One day my kids will thank me for not bashing their dad,” she noted.
Forgiveness and collaboration appear to be crucial components for celebrities navigating post-divorce co-parenting, showcasing that a harmonious approach can lead to healthier family dynamics.
