NYC, NJ Brace for Major Weekend Snowstorm Disruption, Officials Warn

Meteorologists and city officials are cautioning New Yorkers about a major winter storm this weekend. The New York City area is expected to face significant snowfall starting late Saturday, leading to disruption in transportation and daily life.

The National Weather Service (NWS) has outlined the storm’s potential impact. Snowfall could begin on Saturday, intensifying through Sunday. Affected commutes may extend into Monday.

  • 70% chance of around 12 inches.

If snowfall in Central Park reaches a foot, it will mark the first occurrence since January 2021, when over 17 inches fell during a single storm.
