Demonstrations erupted across Ohio as part of the “Free America Walkout,” a nationwide movement aimed at protesting current government policies. On the one-year anniversary of President Trump’s return to office, over 150 protesters gathered outside the Ohio Statehouse in Columbus, carrying signs that criticized both the administration and the presence of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

Davis, a nurse, highlighted the personal impact of the administration’s policies, particularly regarding the exclusion of certain professional degrees for nurses. She urged citizens to engage in civic activities like contacting their representatives and voting.
Nationwide Movement
The “Free America Walkout” was part of a larger nationwide initiative with over 600 actions planned across the United States. Participants were encouraged to organize with their peers and demonstrate solidarity by refraining from spending on that day.
In Upper Arlington, over 100 students walked out of school despite warnings of potential repercussions. These protests reflect a broader trend of civic engagement and resistance against government policies deemed harmful by various community groups.
