Burger, created by quarterbacks Fernando and Alberto Mendoza alongside restaurateur Ed Schwartzman, serves as a platform to raise awareness and funds for multiple sclerosis (MS) research.
This initiative honors the brothers’ mother, Elsa Mendoza, who has been battling MS for nearly 20 years. “Supporting our mother’s fight against MS has been incredible,” Alberto Mendoza stated. “We aim to raise awareness through this effort.”
About the Mendoza Bros. Burger
The Mendoza Bros. Burger is a Cuban-inspired dish available at BuffaLouie’s. It features smashed double patties, grilled onions, Swiss cheese, mustard, and hot ham on a buttered brioche bun, reflecting the Mendoza family’s Cuban heritage.
All proceeds from the burger sales directly support MS research. Schwartzman has committed to donating 20% of each purchase, additionally matching contributions. “The partnership has raised over $150,000 for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society,” Tim Coetzee, CEO of the organization, remarked, praising the Mendoza brothers for their dedication.

Fernando Mendoza believes that name, image, and likeness (NIL) opportunities should serve a greater purpose. “NIL can be viewed negatively, but it can also inspire positive change,” he explained. The brothers have encouraged their peers to engage in similar philanthropic activities.
