Snow Alerts Issued: Up to 4 Inches Expected in 15 N.J. Counties Sunday

Widespread snow is on the horizon for New Jersey this Sunday, with accumulations expected to reach up to four inches. The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued winter weather advisories for 15 counties, anticipating challenging conditions as a second winter storm approaches.
Expected Snowfall Across New Jersey
Residents can expect varying snowfall totals throughout the state. Northern New Jersey experienced significant snowfall from a prior storm, with reports indicating 4 to 5 inches in some areas. The upcoming storm, however, is projected to deliver higher totals in central and southern regions.
Forecasted Accumulations
- Camden, Gloucester, Salem, and northwestern Burlington counties: 1 to 3 inches of snow from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- Essex, Hudson, Union, eastern Passaic, and western Bergen counties: 2 to 4 inches from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- Hunterdon, Mercer, Morris, Middlesex, Somerset, and western Monmouth counties: 2 to 4 inches from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Snow is expected to mix with rain initially in some areas but will transition to all snow by the afternoon. The NWS highlights that a northward shift in the storm’s path could lead to more widespread snow accumulation.
Travel Preparedness
Residents in affected areas should brace for potentially hazardous driving conditions throughout the day. With winter weather advisories in effect, caution is advised.
Preparation is key as the snowstorm approaches Sunday. Drivers should consider alternate routes and check for updates regarding road conditions and safety recommendations.
