Denver Broncos, NFL Honor Colorado Coach for Historic Football Title Run

Dakota Ridge High School’s football program achieved a historic milestone by claiming its first 4A state football championship this season. Under the guidance of second-year head coach Jeremiah Behrendsen, the Eagles made significant strides that led to their success.
Historic Championship and Community Resilience
The Eagles’ journey to the championship was not easy. The team faced personal challenges, including the tragic loss of a former player and a coach’s wife during Behrendsen’s inaugural year. Such events galvanized the team’s spirit and fostered a strong bond among players.
“Our defensive coordinator, who lost his wife last year, would be the first to say, ‘Man, I needed this,’” Behrendsen shared, reflecting on the healing power of their shared achievement.

The remarkable season culminated in recognition from the Denver Broncos and the NFL. Behrendsen was named the Broncos’ nominee for the prestigious Don Shula NFL High School Coach of the Year Award.
