Morrissey Cancels 19% of 2026 Tour Dates

Morrissey fans are familiar with the unpredictability of attending his concerts. Recently, he has canceled over 19% of his scheduled performances for 2026. This trend has once again raised concerns among his loyal supporters.
Morrissey’s Cancellations and Postponements in 2026
As of early 2026, Morrissey has announced a total of 21 concerts across North America, the Caribbean, and Europe. However, he has already made some significant changes to this schedule:
- Four performances have been canceled:
- San Diego
- St. Louis
- Dominican Republic
- Atlanta
- One concert in Rancho Mirage, California, has been postponed due to “an adverse reaction to a prescription medication.”
The cancellation of the Atlanta concert was attributed to “artist illness,” with the venue, Fox Theatre, providing the announcement. The St. Louis performance was canceled on the same day as the event, leaving fans informed either through local radio or automatic refunds from Ticketmaster.
The decision to cancel the Dominican Republic show came from the ticketing service, citing “reasons completely beyond our control.” Currently, there has been no official comment from Morrissey’s representatives regarding these cancellations.
The Streak of Cancellations Continues
Cancellations have become increasingly common for Morrissey. Reports indicate that he has missed over 400 gigs throughout his career, including his time with The Smiths. It’s important to note that this figure remains unverified.
- In 2022 alone, Morrissey missed 32 out of 64 scheduled performances, resulting in a staggering 50% cancellation rate.
This uncertainty about his performance schedule might have fans wondering if betting options could emerge, allowing wagers on which shows he will ultimately attend.
Fan Experiences Amid Cancellations
Despite the frequent cancellations, fans have had memorable experiences during some of the concerts held. For instance, attendees in San Antonio were treated to a rare live performance of “Paint a Vulgar Picture,” a song Morrissey last performed in 1997.
Upcoming Album Release
Morrissey is set to release his new album, “Make-Up Is a Lie,” on March 6, 2026. This album will feature 11 original tracks along with a cover of Roxy Music’s “Amazona.” The title track is currently available for streaming, and Morrissey has performed it live only twice this year.
The situation regarding his tour and the cancellations continues to evolve, leaving fans eagerly awaiting updates and hoping for a more stable concert experience.
