Students from the Beyond Borders program are gearing up for their highly anticipated Evolve Gala. This event is set to take place on January 17, 2026, at the River Run Centre in Guelph, Ontario. Beyond Borders is an experiential learning initiative aimed at shaping future business leaders through practical education and community engagement.
Evolve Gala Fundraising Goals
For the upcoming gala, students have been diligently preparing over the past six weeks. Their ambitious goal is to raise $200,000 to support four local charities and programs. This fundraising initiative reflects their commitment to making a positive impact in the Guelph community.

Earlier in the semester, students faced a challenge where they presented pitches for various charity ideas. After the selection process, three charities and one program were chosen based on votes, focusing on their importance to the students and community.
Community Impact and Personal Growth
Kaiya W., the Chief Editor, emphasized the significance of the gala. “It showcases how young leaders have learned and grown while supporting the local community,” she stated. Some of the funds raised will be directed to the UGDSB Experiential Learning programs to enhance support for students.
Emma Y., the Director of Sales and Finance for the gala, reflected on her experience. She noted that the program has been instrumental in teaching her leadership skills by integrating real-life experiences with classroom knowledge. This has prepared her for future academic challenges.
Event Highlights
The Evolve Gala promises an engaging experience for attendees. Confirmed entertainment includes performers like Lauren Roy, Dance INC., Alexa Goldie, and Joe Burns. Guests can also look forward to:

Participants are encouraged to dress in semi-formal attire for the evening. Although tickets are nearly sold out, they can still be purchased online. For those unable to attend, donations are welcomed to support the cause.
