Family Continues Lakefront Search for Missing Chicago Teacher Linda Brown

Family and friends are actively searching for missing Chicago Public Schools teacher Linda Brown. She has not been seen since Saturday, when she was last spotted near her vehicle at 35th and Lake Park Avenue.

Details of the Disappearance

New insights have emerged in the case. Video footage captured Brown leaving her car early Saturday morning around 3 a.m. However, she did not return. Chicago police confirmed that a surveillance image shows her in the 3500-block of South Lake Park Avenue.

Physical Description

In the surveillance video, Brown is identifiable by her black winter hat, black coat, black pants, and black rubber snow boots.

Community Support and Search Efforts

  • Molly Seedhouse, a colleague who worked with Brown for a decade, emphasized the community’s hope.
  • “We know that the police have been utilizing dogs, drones, and diving teams,” said Seedhouse, expressing the urgency for more eyes on the search.
  • Brown’s family and friends gathered to pray and began a search along the lakefront, an area where she frequently visited to find solace.

Potential Struggles

Concerns about Brown’s mental health have been raised. She had recently experienced anxiety about returning to the classroom after taking a leave of absence. Seedhouse noted, “It could be a mental health challenge or other medical issues affecting her clarity.”

Last Known Sightings

Prior to her disappearance, Brown was seen on Saturday in the 4500-block of South King Drive, close to her residence. Her brother-in-law believes she may still be on foot and urges the public to remain vigilant.
