Embark Announces Significant Upgrades to Combat Arc Raiders Cheaters

Embark Studios has acknowledged the rising concern of cheating in its popular multiplayer game, Arc Raiders. Players have actively voiced their frustrations on social platforms, prompting the studio to respond with a commitment to address these issues swiftly.
Planned Upgrades to Combat Arc Raiders Cheaters
In a message shared on the Arc Raiders Discord, Embark stated, “We’ve seen the discussion around the topic of cheaters in Arc Raiders. Please know that we are taking this issue very seriously and are listening to, and acting on your feedback.”
New Detection Mechanisms and Support for Streamers
Over the coming weeks, Embark will implement substantial changes to its rulesets. Key upgrades include:
- Enhanced Anti-Cheat systems for better detection of cheaters.
- New bans aimed at removing offending players.
- Client-side fixes to address the “out of map” glitch.
- Tools for streamers aimed at reducing instances of stream sniping.
These steps are pivotal as the game grapples with a growing cheating problem, highlighted by the increased visibility of these issues through streaming platforms like Twitch. Streamers often face more cheaters due to their higher skill levels and rankings.
Community Responses and Adjustments
While the game is designed for a broad audience, some players have reported encountering cheaters more frequently, particularly those involved in player-versus-player (PvP) experiences. An ongoing issue within the community has been the use of macros that enable certain weapons, like the Kettle, to fire at accelerated rates, mimicking machine gun fire.
In response to player concerns, Embark’s team is also looking into balancing specific weapons and gadgets, including:
- The Kettle
- The Stitcher
- Trigger Grenades
These adjustments are part of Embark’s broader commitment to maintaining a balanced and fair gaming environment in Arc Raiders.
