Check If You’re Owed $150 by Dwayne Johnson’s Energy Drink Brand

Consumers of ZOA Energy, the energy drink brand co-founded by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, may be eligible for compensation from a recent $3 million settlement in a class-action lawsuit. This legal action stemmed from allegations that ZOA misled customers by promoting its drinks with the label “0 Preservatives.”

Settlement Overview

The lawsuit, filed in October 2023 in the Northern District of California, stated that ZOA Energy drinks contained chemical preservatives like citric and ascorbic acid, despite claims of being preservative-free. ZOA Energy, however, has denied any wrongdoing, affirming that its product labeling complies with applicable laws.

Eligibility for Compensation

  • U.S. customers who purchased ZOA Energy drinks labeled “0 Preservatives” can file claims.
  • Eligible purchase dates are between March 1, 2021, and November 21, 2025.

Claims can be submitted online or via mail and must be postmarked by February 20, 2026. Customers with valid receipts may receive reimbursements up to $150 per household. Those without receipts can claim up to $10 per household, valued at $1 per drink. However, any payments received must be redeemed within 180 days to avoid forfeiture.

Exclusion from the Settlement

Consumers wishing to opt-out of the settlement to preserve their right for separate legal action must submit written requests by February 13. A portion of the $3 million settlement will be allocated for attorney fees and administrative costs. The final approval hearing for the settlement is scheduled for March 26, 2026.
