Rangers Secure £4m Deal for Sturm Graz Star Tochi Chukwuani

Rangers Football Club is making significant strides in the transfer market as they pursue a £4 million deal for Tochi Chukwuani, a talented midfielder from SK Sturm Graz. The deal, which is nearing completion, has been negotiated by Dan Purdy, who is spearheading the recruitment efforts for head coach Danny Rohl.

Details of the Transfer

Chukwuani, who is currently a Danish under-21 international, is expected to be transferred for approximately €4.5 million, with added bonuses included in the agreement. The Austrian champions, Sturm Graz, are close to accepting this offer as they prepare for an upcoming friendly against Club Brugge during their winter training camp.

Chukwuani’s Career Background

The 22-year-old midfielder has made a significant impact since joining Sturm Graz two seasons ago. Prior to that, he played for Danish side Lyngby after developing his skills in the Nordsjaelland academy, where he shared a teammate with current Rangers player Mohamed Diomande.

Future Transfers for Rangers

In addition to Chukwuani, Rangers are also interested in acquiring Tuur Rommens from Westerlo, having submitted a €3.5 million bid. Rommens is a highly regarded Belgian under-21 defender, making him a primary target for the Ibrox side.

  • Rangers are keen on bolstering their squad amid a title race.
  • James Penrice from AEK Athens was also considered but is unlikely to move.
  • Plans are underway to secure a central defender soon, with Xavier Mbuyamba from Volendam frequently mentioned.

With a concerted effort to strengthen their squad, Rangers are gearing up for a competitive season ahead, ensuring they have the talent needed for a final push towards the title.
