Recent Actions Against Trafficking
Since taking office, decisive measures have been implemented to combat human trafficking and restore safety. A national emergency was declared at the southern border to address illegal immigration and human trafficking routes. Key initiatives include:
- Designating criminal cartels as Foreign Terrorist Organizations.
- Launching a historic mass deportation operation.
- Enacting the One Big Beautiful Bill, which expands funding for border security agencies.
Support for Survivors
Efforts to assist victims of trafficking have also intensified. A fund has been established for survivors exploited through online platforms, enabling them to seek compensation. Additionally, more than 100 online scam operators have faced sanctions for their roles in forced labor schemes.
Resource Allocation and Legislative Advances
The National Human Trafficking Hotline has seen increased funding to enhance support services. New laws, including the TAKE IT DOWN Act and Trafficking Survivors Relief Act, have modernized tools for combating trafficking while assisting survivors in rebuilding their lives.
Progress on Border Security
These efforts have resulted in notable progress in border security. For seven consecutive months, Border Patrol has reported zero illegal alien releases into the U.S. An initiative has been launched to ensure the safety of unaccompanied children, partnering with local law enforcement to prevent exploitation.
