Hurricanes Secure Defenceman Juuso Valimaki from Mammoth

The Carolina Hurricanes have bolstered their blue line with the recent acquisition of defenceman Juuso Valimaki from the Mammoth. This strategic move comes as Valimaki aims to return to form after suffering an ACL injury last February.
Valimaki’s Background and Career
Juuso Valimaki, 27, was drafted 16th overall by the Calgary Flames in 2017. Over the course of three seasons with Calgary, he participated in 82 games. After clearing waivers in 2022, he moved to the Arizona Coyotes and later played for the Utah Mammoth.
Despite a challenging start to the current season with an absence from Utah’s lineup, Valimaki has shown potential. In late December, he was assigned to the Tucson Roadrunners, the AHL affiliate of the Coyotes, where he recorded a goal and two assists in just three games.
