Nashville is gearing up for a monumental New Year’s Eve celebration, known as the Big Bash, set to attract approximately 250,000 attendees. The festivities will occur in downtown Nashville, particularly at the Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park. The event features live music, fireworks, and the iconic Music Note Drop.

Event Details

The festivities are scheduled for December 31, starting at 5:30 PM when the gates open. Admission is free, but guests should prepare for costs related to food and beverages.

Performance Schedule

  • 5:30 PM: Event gates open
  • 5:30 – 6:45 PM: DJ Case Bloom performs
  • 6:45 PM: Emcee Kelly Sutton and Mayor Freddie O’Connell welcome guests
  • 7:00 – 12:30 AM: CBS broadcast featuring headliners Lainey Wilson, Jason Aldean, and Bailey Zimmerman
  • 11:55 PM: Countdown to midnight with fireworks and confetti

Permitted and Prohibited Items

Attendees should be aware of the following regulations:

  • Permitted:
    • Clear bags (max size: 12” x 12” x 6”)
    • Non-transparent wallets (max size: 4.5” x 6.5”)

Transportation and Parking

Those planning to attend are urged to utilize rideshare options. Key pickup and drop-off locations include:

Public transit will provide special bus services between Broadway and the event site, departing every 10 minutes from 6:15 PM to 1:30 AM.

Security Measures

Over 500 security personnel will ensure the safety of attendees. The event will feature multiple security checkpoints and fenced areas. Fencing will be in place around the venue for added safety.

Traffic and Road Closures

Traffic impacts and road closures began on December 14. Roads will remain closed through early January to facilitate event setup and safety. All closures are expected to lift by January 6 at the latest.
