SAPD Finds Body in San Antonio River Near Pearl

Authorities in San Antonio are investigating the discovery of a man’s body in the San Antonio River, near the Pearl, on December 29. The San Antonio Police Department (SAPD) reported that the body was found early in the morning, prompting an investigation.

A hotel guest first alerted staff after reportedly spotting what appeared to be a body in the river from a balcony. Hotel personnel confirmed the sighting and contacted the police for assistance.

Upon arrival, investigators retrieved the body from the river. It was moved to a nearby boat ramp located at the intersection of Newell Avenue and Camden Street. The deceased is believed to be a man in his 30s, with indications suggesting that he may have been experiencing homelessness.
