On December 22, Prashant experienced severe chest pains while at work. A client assisted him in reaching the Grey Nuns Hospital in southeast Edmonton. Upon arrival, hospital staff conducted an electrocardiogram (ECG), which they claimed revealed no significant issues. Prashant was then instructed to continue waiting and was offered Tylenol for his discomfort.
Niharika described the situation as distressing, noting that her husband’s blood pressure kept rising. After waiting, Prashant was finally called in for treatment. Tragically, moments later, he collapsed, suffering an apparent cardiac arrest.

The response to Prashant’s untimely death has sparked outrage and demands for accountability. Hospital and Surgical Services Minister Matt Jones expressed condolences and announced a joint review by Acute Care Alberta and Covenant Health Alberta.
