In a tragic incident in Allerton, The Bronx, a man was shot dead while a 14-year-old boy sustained injuries in a shooting that took place in an apartment building hallway. The shooting occurred on the 7th floor of a residential complex located on Adee Avenue on Saturday evening around 6:30 p.m.

Eyewitness Accounts
- Leon Stafford, a resident, described the moment he heard gunfire. “I was just in my room doing my studying and I heard a ‘bang, bang, bang’ three times,” he recounted.
- Stafford, who works security at a nearby nursing home, expressed concern for his safety in the building, stating that he often sees groups of teenagers congregating in the park late at night.
- Another resident, identified as Ray, noted that the area had experienced similar incidents, highlighting the ongoing issue of gun violence in the community.
Community Concerns
Residents lament the increasing prevalence of gangs and gun violence in the neighborhood. Stafford emphasized that the situation has persisted for approximately two decades and believes an increased police presence could help deter criminal activities.
“We lost somebody young in front of the building like a year ago,” Ray said, underscoring the community’s worries. The lack of safety has left many feeling apprehensive, especially at night.
