The latest segment on El-Balad features a creative game titled “Categories,” focusing on the word “party.” Participants are challenged to think of words corresponding to each letter in “PARTY.” This interactive format encourages listeners to engage by providing answers related to various categories.

Categories for the Challenge

Here are the categories participants can choose from for their responses:

  • Colors: Think of colors that start with P, A, R, T, and Y.
  • Major League Baseball Teams: Name teams that correspond to each letter.
  • Foreign Rivers: Identify rivers worldwide that begin with the specified letters.
  • Foods for a Thanksgiving Meal: List Thanksgiving dishes that fit the criteria.

Previous Challenge Recap

In the last segment, a unique challenge involved a book titled “OUT TO SEA.” Contrary to expectations, it was not a nautical title but rather an encyclopedia entry spanning from OUT- to SEA-. The winner of this challenge was Mark Karp from Marlboro Township, New Jersey.

New Challenge Announcement

This week’s challenge, presented by Joseph Young from St. Cloud, Minnesota, requires participants to think creatively. The task is to find a two-syllable, four-letter word. By adding two letters at the beginning and one letter at the end, participants should create a one-syllable, seven-letter word. Correct answers should be submitted by Wednesday, December 31, at 3 p.m. ET.

Winning Opportunities

Listeners who provide correct answers stand a chance to be featured on the show. It’s an exciting opportunity for engagement and fun participation in linguistic puzzles.
