Woman Rescues Abandoned Newborn Puppies at South Philadelphia Target

In a distressing incident, a woman at a Target store in South Philadelphia discovered a bag containing eight newborn puppies. These puppies were just hours old, with their umbilical cords still intact.
Rescue of Abandoned Puppies
Recognizing the cries of the puppies, the good Samaritan quickly brought them to the ACCT Philly animal rescue organization. The puppies were found abandoned in a shopping cart outside the Target on Mifflin Street.
Immediate Care and Concerns
ACCT Philly promptly transferred the puppies to Outcast Rescue, located in Catasauqua, Lehigh County. The organization reported that the puppies were placed in an incubator due to dangerously low body temperatures. While the puppies are receiving round-the-clock care, concerns have arisen regarding their survival. At least one puppy is unlikely to make it, and others are exhibiting troubling medical signs.
Importance of Responsible Pet Ownership
ACCT Philly issued a statement underscoring the importance of responsible pet ownership. They emphasized that abandonment is never a solution. “If you can no longer care for your pet, please do not abandon them. These puppies would have frozen to death without intervention,” the organization highlighted on social media.
Call for Information
ACCT Philly is seeking any information regarding the origin of the abandoned puppies. They urge anyone with insights to contact either ACCT Philly or the PSPCA Humane Law Enforcement.
Support for the Puppies
Outcast Rescue is also appealing for donations, whether monetary or supplies, to assist with the puppies’ ongoing care. Detailed information about how to contribute is available on their Facebook page.
