Winnipeg Police Charge Man in Fatal Arlington Street Shooting

A man has been arrested in connection with a shooting incident that occurred on Arlington Street in Winnipeg’s North End. The shooting resulted in the death of 37-year-old Caleb Joshua Johnston.
Arrest and Charges
The Winnipeg Police Service has charged 32-year-old Hugh Keith Switzer with second-degree murder in relation to Johnston’s death. The charges were officially announced on Monday.
Incident Details
On December 12, police responded to a report of a disturbance at a residence located on Arlington Street, situated between Dufferin and Selkirk avenues. Upon arrival, officers discovered Johnston deceased from gunshot wounds.
Additional Charges
In addition to the murder charge, Switzer faces multiple other charges:
- Three counts related to firearm and weapon possession
- Two counts of possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm
Switzer remains in police custody as the investigation continues.
