Districts 196 and 191 Close High Schools Tuesday Over Potential Threats

Several high schools in the suburbs of southern Twin Cities have canceled classes for Tuesday due to potential threats. Independent School District 196 announced the closure to prioritize the safety of students and staff. They received a notification regarding the threats, prompting swift action.

Precautionary Measures Taken
District 196 reported that students already present at the schools were dismissed in an orderly manner. Buses were made available to transport them home safely. In a related development, District 191, which includes Burnsville High School and Burnsville Alternative High School, also announced the closure of these schools as a precautionary measure.
