Westbound I-90 to Close Monday for Bullfrog Road Overpass Repairs

Travelers on westbound Interstate 90 near Cle Elum are advised to prepare for major disruptions starting Monday. The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) has announced full closures of the westbound lanes. This closure is necessary for the replacement of the Bullfrog Road overpass.
Bullfrog Road Overpass Replacement Details
The Bullfrog Road overpass was demolished after a semi-truck collided with it in October 2023. The impact caused severe damage, prompting the need for its replacement. From Monday through Friday, contractor crews will work on installing new girders, fully closing the westbound lanes during this time.
Traffic Management and Detours
All westbound traffic will be diverted through the off- and on-ramps at Exit 80. Travelers should allow for extra travel time and remain attentive to workers and detour signage in the vicinity.
Project Timeline
- Preparatory Work: Last week, WSDOT began mobilizing equipment and completing necessary preparatory tasks.
- Future Closures: Short-duration full and single lane closures will occur in early January to complete the project.
- Completion Date: The entire overpass replacement is projected to be finished by the end of January 2026.
Travelers should stay informed and plan accordingly to navigate these upcoming changes on I-90 effectively.
